PADI Self-Reliant Diver Program

Through the PADI Self-Reliant Diver program you will learn:

  • The importance of the buddy system and therefore what it means to dive alone;
  • The potential risks and techniques to reduce them;
  • The importance of equipment redundancy;
  • How to plan dives on your own;
  • Managing gas consumption (SAC rate).

The PADI Self-Reliant Diver course is divided into two main parts:

  1. Knowledge development (independent study and classroom sessions);
  2. Three open water dives to put self-sufficient diving skills into practice and solve potential problems on your own.
Prerequisites
  • Be an Advanced Open Water Diver;
  • Have 100 logged dives;
  • Have a diving skills assessment issued by a PADI Self-Reliant Diver Specialty Instructor;
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
Credit/Certification PADI Self-Reliant Diver

Completing the course, you will receive your PADI Self-Reliant Diver Specialty certification, which allows you to dive solo, keeping you fully aware and in control during your diving activity.
