PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Program
The PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor course program includes:
How to teach the theory;
How to present and demonstrate diving skills during confined water and open water lessons;
How to organize‚ set up and supervise lessons in confined water and open water;
How to assess students’ skills;
How to teach and certify the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy‚ Project Aware Specialist and Aware Coral Reef Conservation specialties;
How to apply and follow standard procedures in all PADI courses.
The course essentially consists of the following phases:
Knowledge Development (online with individual study or in the classroom): diving theory and theory exam;
The use of PADI standards and the PADI Instructor Manual;
Practical classroom teaching sessions and academic presentations;
Practical teaching sessions in confined water;
Practical teaching sessions in open water;
Emergency First Response Instructor course (First Aid).
Each point will be repeated several times until the knowledge is consolidated. Once reviewed by the staff of Evasioni Blu Diving Ustica – Palermo (Sicily) and the course director‚ all students will take the Instructor Exam (IE) and‚ assessed by PADI examiners‚ will demonstrate their theoretical and practical teaching skills in confined and open water.
Prerequisites
Be a PADI Divemaster for at least 6 months;
Hold the Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) certification issued within the previous 24 months;
Hold a medical certificate;
Have completed at least 60 logged dives at the start of the course and at least 100 to access the Instructor Exam (IE).

Once the course is successfully completed‚ you can request your PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certificate‚ which will allow you to teach the following courses:
PADI Discover Scuba Diving course;
PADI ReActivate course;
PADI Bubblemaker program;
PADI Open Water Diver course;
PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course;
PADI Rescue Diver course;
PADI Divemaster course.
