With the PADI AWARE – Dive Against Debris Course, promoted by Evasioni Blu Diving Ustica – Palermo ( Sicily ), you will help ensure a clean and healthy future for our oceans.
PADI AWARE - Dive Against Debris Program
The program follows a careful, step-by-step path that will first teach you to recognize marine debris and then show you the techniques for removing and disposing of it. Specifically, you will learn:
- What marine pollution is;
- How marine debris ends up in our seas and how it damages underwater life;
- How to plan and safely carry out a Dive Against Debris dive;
- How to weigh, sort, log, dispose of and report debris.
The PADI AWARE – Dive Against Debris Course is divided into three main steps:
- Knowledge development (independent study and classroom sessions).
- Clean-up dive at our adopted dive site with Project AWARE Dive Against Debris;
- Weighing, sorting, logging, disposing of and reporting debris.
Prerequisites
- Be a (Junior) Open Water Diver;
- Be at least 12 years of age.
Credit/Certification PADI AWARE - Dive Against Debris
Completing the course, you will receive the PADI AWARE – Dive Against Debris Diver Specialty certification. This certification can be credited as an adventure dive for the PADI Adventure Diver Course or the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course.
